Seed Starting Kits and Seed Starting Supplies:
Having the right equipment when seed starting makes the entire process a lot more enjoyable! If you have a gardener in your life who does a lot of gardening and starts plants indoors, check out these gift ideas.
Seed Starting Kit: Ultimate Backyard Gardener Bundle
This bundle is the perfect gift for a gardener friend or family member who loves to start their plants from seeds. The seed starting kit includes seed starting pots of varying sizes, seed starting trays, and humidity domes. Bootstrap Farmer sells high quality seed starting equipment that exceeds anything you’ll find in a big box store. The plastic is thick and durable - making the trays easy to handle and store.
This bundle includes:
(60) 6 Cell Plug Inserts Multicolor -
(5) 1020 2.5" Trays No Holes Multicolor -
(5) 1020 6" Domes -
(90) 3.3" Pots Multicolor with (5) Inserts -
Many gardeners start their seeds in smaller 6-cell containers and then repot their plants in larger pots similar to these 3.3” pots as the plants grow. The humidity domes are great for germination because they keep the soil moist! 1020 trays are great for setting the 6-cell and 3.3” pot containers in for transporting and watering.

Heat Mat for Seed Starting: SunPad Lite Seed Starting Heat Mat
A heat mat for seed starting is a great gift for the seasoned gardener in your life who starts their plants from seeds. Seedling heat mats speed up the germination process and can also help with overall germination rates. The heat mat is easy to clean, waterproof, and is perfectly sized to sit underneath a 1020 tray that will hold the plants. This is a great gift because some growers don’t invest in a heat mat for plants when they are just getting started - this is likely on their “wish list.”

Seed Starting Pots: Clear Seed Starter Pots - 2.5”
If the gardener you're shopping for loves seed starting indoors, these clear 2.5” pots are a really fun gift! Most containers sold in big box stores are black and you can’t see the root growth of the plants. These clear pots allow you to see the root growth which can give the gardener insight on the health of the plant. These seed starting containers are reusable, USA-made, and BPA-free.

Seed Starting Grow Lights
4 Foot Barrina LED Grow Lights
Seed starting lights are critical for growing plants indoors. Without proper lighting, plants may not survive or may become weak and fragile. Above I have listed two different options for light for seedlings. This is dependent on the growers set-up and how many plants they are starting from seed. If the gardener you’re buying for has a pretty large set-up, you’ll likely want to opt for the 4 foot lights. If they are just getting started, the clip-on or tripod light would be perfect.
I personally started with the smaller light and used that for 2 years before purchasing the larger lights! Now that I have the large lights I would never go back but it just depends on the level of experience and interest of the gardener you’re buying for.
Price at time of publish: 4 Foot Lights - $99.89, Clip-On Lights - $17.93
